Bukhara, Uzbekistan 23 March 2012
Madrasah of Abdulaziz Khan.
The madrasah was built in the middle of 17th century opposite to Ulugbek Madrasah and surpassed it in size and decor. Abdulaziz (died in 1681) was a member of Bukhara Astarhanid dynasty (1601-1747).
This is a traditional madrasah with two floors of hudjras around the yard and a mosque on the central axis. The high portal was decorated with pictures of fantastic birds flying to the sun.
