Socialist Michelle Bachelet won the presidential election on Sunday, becoming the Chile's first woman leader while further consolidating Latin America's move to the left.
Bachelet, a paediatrician and former political prisoner, handily beat her conservative challenger, multimillionaire businessman Sebastian Pinera.
