Uzbekistan – A Photographic Journey

In March 2012, photographer Ezequiel Scagnetti travelled across Uzbekistan to document the country's remarkable cultural heritage, historic Silk Road cities and everyday life. His journey took him through legendary destinations including Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, capturing the architecture, people and traditions that have shaped Central Asia for centuries.

This documentary photo essay was published in magazines and newspapers in Belgium, France, Germany and Argentina, and was later exhibited in both Belgium and Germany as part of Ezequiel Scagnetti's ongoing documentary photography work.
Based between Brussels, Belgium, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ezequiel Scagnetti is an international photographer specialising in corporate, editorial, travel and portrait photography. Over the past three decades, he has worked in more than 80 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, creating visual stories for international organisations, European institutions, media publications and corporate clients.
